DESMAN Makes Headlines with Emergency Inspection
(August 2007)

DESMAN's Bob Tober inspects the softball sized hole in the Urban County Government Center Garage.
Bob Tober of DESMAN Associates was featured in Lexington Kentucky's Herlad-Leader as he performed an emergency inspection on the Urban County Government Center Garage in Lexington, KY after a softball sized piece of concrete fell and about 40 pounds of loose concrete around the hole was removed.
DESMAN inspected the garage last year as part of a program to inspect all of the City’s garages and make needed repairs. DESMAN rated the garage in “fair to poor” condition and recommended the city spend $1 million to 1.4 million on repairs.
On Friday, August 17, 2007, Bob Tober, a DESMAN Senior Associate, was called in and spent two hours examining the hole that was created when the piece of concrete fell onto the first floor of the Urban County Government Center Parking Garage Wednesday afternoon.
The Mayor’s office said the city will replace a damaged section of concrete in the garage as soon as possible.
