Features: 600-car space, two-bay wide cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete frame parking structure on six supported levels plus grade with 3,000 square feet of ground level commercial/retail space.

Description: The Millennium parking facility located at 1st and Congress streets is centrally located in downtown Detroit. A total of 3,000 square feet of commercial/retail space was provided at street level. The 600-car garage has a two bay wide double threaded helix ramping system with angled parking on six supported levels plus grade. A cast-in-place post-tensioned structural system was utilized for the structural frame. A computerized revenue control system was incorporated utilizing mag-strip and auto-read technology. The project received the 2000 Award of Merit by the International Parking Institute (IPI), for excellence in parking structure design for parking structures under 800 car spaces. Desman Associates is the Parking Consultant and Structural Engineer of Record.
