Features: 422-car space, 4-bay wide, two-level vertical expansion and 3-level horizontal expansion of an existing parking structure.

Description: This 750-car facility provides parking for downtown commuters and tourist parking for the adjacent Inner Harbor. The existing facility also houses restaurant space. DESMAN was challenged with developing an expansion scheme for an existing garage, not designed to accept either horizontal or vertical expansion, without disrupting parking or restaurant operations.
As architect and engineer of record, DESMAN studied the existing structure to ensure its compatibility with recent seismic design criteria, performed façade study evaluating materials for the new level, and studied the egress implications of extending the stairs and the elevator one floor.
