Description: The Gallery on Fulton is a mixed-use development providing the diverse downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan community with residential units, retail establishments and a new facility for the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA). The UICA is a community based art institution that serves as Michigan’s largest contemporary art center and multidisciplinary laboratory for all forms of modern art including dance, performance art, film, literature, and the visual arts. The new spaces will include presentation galleries, theaters for dance and film, and studios for all disciplines. When completed, the projects will be one of the nations first LEED-certified facilities uniting nonprofits, government, retail and residential components. The base of the development contains 250 parking spaces for public and private parking. DESMAN served as parking consultant and structural engineer for the entire building.
