Description: The General Motors Renaissance Center garage has a 615-car capacity and faces Franklin Street and the Detroit River to the south. The garage serves employees who work at General Motors World Headquarters in the RenCen Building. The grade plus seven level garage has a two bay wide single threaded helix ramping system with angled parking that allows for non-sloping floor lines along the primary building elevation which faces the Detroit River. Precast concrete beams and columns were utilized for the structural framing system. A color admixture was used in the precast concrete exterior panels to replicate the brick look of the historic Rivertown District.
