Project Name: Theatre District Self-Park City: Chicago State: Illinois Client: Stein & Company (client & former Owner) Features: 1,000-car spaces on 11 supported levels plus grade with 10,000 square feet of ground level commercial/retail space. Description: The Theatre District Self-Park compliments the neighboring Chicago?s famous Theatre District by using marquees to identify entrances/exits and incorporating 10,000 square feet of ground level retail space. The structural framing system is cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete with pre-cast concrete used as an architectural fa?ade material to continue the limestone character of the area. Show tunes are played in each elevator lobby to help the parking patrons identify each floor. DESMAN is the prime Architect and Structural Engineer of Record and Parking Consultant. The project was the recipient of the 1988 Merit Award recipient from the Institutional Municipal Parking Congress (IMPC). |
