Features: The Harvey's Casino - Hotel Parking Facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa is a 7-level, 1500-car garage constructed to accommodate daily, hourly and overnight parkers composed primarily of Casino patrons and employees.

Description: The unique six-bay wide precast parking structure contains approximately 1500 cars on seven levels. The facility integrates a double helix design with one-way traffic in six bays. Two ramping bays at the one end of the facility carry patrons up through the facility quickly to minimize search times for parking spaces. The four flat bays to one side maximize searching abilities of the parkers in finding spaces. A stair/elevator tower centrally located between the parking structure, casino and hotel carries patrons quickly from the garage to the casino-hotel level of the facility. Two remote stairs within the deck are utilized for emergency egress situations only. Safety features include a two glass backed electric traction elevators, a glazed main stair tower, emergency phones on each level and open, fully conditioned, stair and elevator lobbies. The first level of the facility is used for employee parking only.

The facility was designed on the wet side of a levy and incorporated a moment frame design to eliminate the need for shear walls in the precast structure. This design allowed columns only on the ground level providing free flow of water during flood stage of the nearby river. The project was delivered using a Design-Build method in which DESMAN Associates was the Prime Architect, Structural Engineer of Record and Parking Consultant.
