Description: The Rush/Ohio/Wabash Self-Park serves the rapidly growing North Bridge/North Michigan Avenue shopping, entertainment, and hotel district. The facility is located a block west of Michigan Avenue on the Ohio Street feeder from the Kennedy Expressway. Construction was concurrent with the Disney Quest interactive amusement park and ESPN Zone directly across Ohio Street, which are major traffic generators. Two restaurants and one retail store are incorporated into the street level.

The first three levels of the building are clad in a pre-cast concrete facade with a grid of reveals. The upper parking floors are screened by a contrasting ridded aluminum panel system that is rotated to follow the angle of the ramping floors. Tree plantings, patterned sidewalks, decorative light sconces and retail activity enliven the streetscape. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art parking technology with fully automated operation. All cashiering occurs at automated pay-on-foot stations at ground level lobbies and key card transactions occur at entrance/exit lanes by proximity reader. Security cameras are located at lobbies and entrance/exit areas. Two-way voice communications with the security desk are available throughout the facility. Speed ramps bring customers up to a double helical, one-way traffic system and a floor specific sports theme helps orient customers to their location. Glass-backed elevators provide magnificent views of the surrounding area. DESMAN is the Architect and Structural Engineer of Record.
