Jacksonville Airport Garage Expansion

Jacksonville Airport Garage Expansion Rendering

Summary

There are two existing garages - Hourly Garage and the Daily Garage with pedestrian access provided between the two garages. Both garages have rental car facilities located on the ground floor. Passenger activity at JAX has reached the point where both the Hourly and Daily Parking Garages, as well as some of the surface parking lots, frequently reach capacity and have to be closed to new arrivals.

This project will add an expansion located east of, and connected to, the existing Daily Garage. The design of the Daily Garage incorporated an entrance/exit helix to connect to and serve this Project, and the garage foundations were designed and constructed to accept new columns without disturbing the existing structure. It is anticipated that the project will provide approximately 2,160 spaces and mirror the existing Daily Garage (six floors, approximately 360 spaces per floor).

DESMAN is providing three essential tasks, several of which have subtasks or complicating factors that need to be addressed.

Task 1: Evaluation of Future Parking Expansion Opportunities

Task 2: Utilization of Rental Car Areas
