Goodyear Innovation Way
3000 spaces, cast-in-place concrete frame with variety of cladding materials
The work consists of the design and construction of an above grade open parking structure in Akron Ohio. The parking deck project site is located on Innovation Way. The facility includes approximately 3000 spaces with accessible parking to be in accordance with accessibility requirements of the City of Akron inclusive of required van parking. Nested parking zones at grade level were used to isolate different parking users. The height of the structure is to be the ground level plus four supported levels and a non-parkable concrete slab roof. The project site is immediately adjacent to the new research facility. The structure is cast-in-place concrete frame with a variety of cladding materials intended to connect it visually with the Technology Center across the street. The facility will serve as parking for the Tech Center employees and visitors. The façade materials include masonry, glazed aluminum curtain walls and mesh panels along the west façade. The parking facility connects to a new research facility via a glazed pedestrian bridge which spans across Innovation Way.
