Unilever Project Unify parking garage
Four Level 600-space precast concrete structure.
Unilever has 400 brands spanning 14 categories of home, personal care, and food products; no other company touches so many people's lives in so many different ways. Unilever invests over $1 billion every year in cutting-edge research and development that explores new thinking and techniques to help develop their products. Their “Project Unify” initiative repositioned and relocated several hundred employees from Greenwich, Connecticut and Green Bay, Wisconsin to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Special emphasis for Project Unify was placed on developing interaction among the various business groups; "engagement areas" allow employees to come together and explore product innovations and marketing strategies.
In order to support the expanded population of their United States Headquarters DESMAN was engaged to explore options for the addition of structured parking on the campus. This master planning effort resulted in the siting of a four-level parking structure that will provide 600 spaces. The facility was designed to integrate into the topography and natural setting of the campus. Architectural design will be complemented with a series of green screens and landscaping that are intended to soften the aesthetics of the facility. It is anticipated our design will incorporate environmentally responsive features supporting Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan that drives their business model while reducing their environmental footprint and increases their positive social impact.
DESMAN is the Parking Consultant, Architect of Record and Structural Engineer for the Project.
