Summary

The New Street Garage is a 625-space public parking facility that will serve the South Bethlehem Business District. Included in the design were a City Police Substation on the grade level and an elevated pedestrian bridge to an adjoining office building. The garage was constructed to meet the parking demands being generated by existing land development and businesses as well as new projects that are planned in the immediate neighborhood. The garage sits in the South Bethlehem Historic District and was designed to meet the architectural and planning criteria of the Historic Commission. The project received the Best of Bethlehem Historic District Award for its advancement of the restoration and preservation of the district's character.
