Historic
Brewery District Office / Garage Complex
Features
Mixed-use building with 625-cars on grade plus five supported levels with seven floors of office space above.
Summary
This integrated 135,000 square foot office plaza and 625-car space parking structure at 500 South Front Street acts as an anchor on the east end of a grand public plaza, which is at the core of the Historic Brewery District, that dates back to the 1840’s. The public plaza supports seasonal outdoor cultural activities and provides a park-like oasis for residents living in the Brewery District.
In keeping with an attitude of preserving and enhancing the existing structures in the historic district, the new office/parking facility endeavors to combine the construction technology, attitudes, and amenities of today to be sympathetic with the old world charm of the district. The new facility houses office and parking requirements within the upper levels of southern portions of the Front, Blenkner and Wall Street city block, while at the same time presents its first and second level as retail facilities. DESMAN served as Parking Consultant and Structural Engineer of Record on the project.
